Media Smart® and teachers
Media Smart® is a media literacy initiative initially
focused on helping children to interpret and understand advertising.
Developed in association with teachers, parents and the National
Confederation of Parent Teacher Associations (charity partner)
and supported by the UK Government, Media Smart® is
designed for primary school children, aged 6-11 years old.
Media Smart®’s free teaching
resource is mapped to the National Curriculum and is particularly
useful for the literacy
hour. It includes: teaching video, poster, teachers’ notes,
activity sheets and a leaflet for parents.
